Hurricane season?
On the way back from the tree of life I spotted these and had to get some pictures. Do you see something horribly wrong with the above pictures? Yes, that's right. Culverts. And in one case, culverts so large I probably could drive my car through them. And there's not one, not two, but three of them under that bridge. What the fuck? It rains a half dozen times here a year, and even at that the rain is sucked up by the sand so fast you didn't even know it had rained except for some wayward puddles like in the earlier photos I posted. So the irony behind these is amazing. Why? What the fuck possessed them to include huge ass culverts as part of the new highway construction? Are they expecting hurricanes any time soon? Do they know something the general public doesn't?

I didn't think of that at all. Good idea.
But, they got a near record rainfall here yesterday with thunder, lightning, the whole nine yards. This island flooded so fast you had no idea what was happening. They have no idea what drains are here. So maybe they are looking ahead to that problem with this freeway... I dunno...
