Weather, shmeather

If there is one thing I miss about home it would have to be... weather patterns. I just took this picture about 2 minutes ago from my deck. Get this--it's November 3rd at 3:07 PM. AND IT'S 88 FUCKING DEGREES OUTSIDE WITH A REAL FEEL OF 97!!!! Since I've been here--from late August--I have not seen or felt one drop of precipitation until yesterday. Josh and I were leaving Johnny Rockets (which is another story in itself) and we both felt 3 or 4 very, very, very small drops of rain. It was brief, but we both felt them so I know I wasn't losing it. Rumor has it it will rain 2-4 times during the so called "winter" here. And when it does, supposedly it's brief but torrential. And, get this, the roads turn to ice. Think about what a road would be like after 11 months of oil, grease, rubber, you name it has been splattered all over it and it suddenly rained? I hear there are hundreds of accidents after the first rain because these people drive like mad men and don't know how to adjust to slick conditions. I can't wait. Anyway, back to the seasons. From what I've observed Bahrain has two seasons--fucking hot, and not so fucking hot. Although I must say that 88 with a real feel of 97 doesn't feel to shabby anymore. After the last two months of 120 with a real feel of 150 your body welcomes 88 degrees like it's winter back home. It's amazing how quickly your body can adjust to this climate. Hell, according to my thermostat in my room it's 83 and that feels cold. I guess heat is all relative. And the one other thing about this "winter" here is that there are now actually clouds visible. During the last two months it was a rare sight to see a cloud. But yesterday it was actually OVERCAST for a few hours!! It's amazing how excited you can get over a cloud.
